Lioulemes Alexandros

Department of Computer Science and Engineering - University of Texas at Arlington

  • Personal Information: Hi my name is Alexandros Lioulemes and I am currently a 4th year PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the University of Texas at Arlington and a Research Fellow of the Greek National Center for Scientific Research (N.C.S.R.) "DEMOKRITOS", Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications. My advisor is Professor Fillia Makedon who runs the Heracleia Human-Centered Computing Laboratory.
  • Educational Background: I pursued my M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Ioannina, Hellas, in June 2013. Also, I received my B.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the same Department, in September 2011. My supervisor was the Associate Professor Nikou Christophoros.
  • Research: My current research interests lie primarily in the development of Computational Methods that can deliver intuitive Human-Robot Interaction techniques. Especially, I am doing research in Smart Robotic Rehabilitation and Assistive Technologies to assess and assist patients to recover their affected and weak upper-limbs, seeking to maximize the effectiveness of exercise while guaranteeing safety. Artificial Intelligence methods, such as Machine Learning, and Pattern Recognition algorithms, will be able to provide personalize rehabilitation through unobtrusive sensors.
